Astrophotography in Laos

At our last overland trip in end 2017, we had a chance to do some deep sky astrophotography in Phonsavan Laos. Due to full moon and bad weather the result is not that great but enough to get us all perked up. Minimal light pollution made this possible.




The above is a picture of the Orion Nebula , taken with a unmodified Sony A7S with Tamron 150-600 lens tracked with skywatcher star adventurer. With Polaris not in sight, a rough polar alignment was done and hence short exposure were taken. Pardon the trailing stars near the nebula as tracking couldn't be done properly.


Although we did not get the best result, but it was a memorable trip. We had been shooting the Orion Nebula for a while. For us , people who immerse daily in light polluted surrounding. We are delighted with the result. Below are some more images of nebulas and galaxy that we almost impossible to get in our daily living environment.
