The Red Winch Hornet II is a speed monster in its class of electric winch. The newest version comes with a pair of 12V 7 HP Ox motor specifically created for competition by Red Winch. It has a no load speed of 11800 RPM ... Insane. With overvolting to 24V it can go over 20000 RPM.
Red Winch Hornet II comes with different option , with overdrive gear you can go even faster. Operation is no brainer , its an electric winch ; reel in reel out ... so much easier than Power Take Off or Fast Differential Winch. Although speed still lacks behind the Fast Differential Winch but very much faster than PTO. It also options that comes with Air Brakes. The FDW doesn't have any brake due to its design. When anything fails especially on a slope, the winch drum will free spool , sending the car back down the slope or even roll over.
Working with the Hornet II, you still need to be wary. Because its fast and powerful it can pull a person on to the floor during a no load reel in. Putting your hand near the fair lead also seems dangerous. But if you operate it the right way , there is nothing to worry about.
