FJ80 Rear Suspension Links

Toyota Landcruiser FJ80 , rear suspension link conversion , built by TBK Offroad Performance.   Parts used in this conversion are listed as follow:

  • - 2 length of each 11" x 1.75" & 24" x 1.75 7075 rod
  • - 1 length of 37" x 1.5" 7075 rod
  • - 2 pieces of 3.0" x 10" travel King Racing Shocks
  • - 10 pieces of 7/8" rod ends with high misalignment spacer
  • - 2 pieces of Dobinson Coil Spring
  • - Miscellaneous custom mounting brackets
  • - Custom built drive shaft

We replaced the stock links with the stronger, flexible 7075 alloy solid rods as they can bend to a certain degree and return to its straighten form unlike the other high tensile steel rod that doesn't have this characteristic. Using chromoly rod ends will give the suspension a larger degree of articulation and more durable as compared to the conventional rubber bushing joints.

This Landcruiser 80 is lifted to fit the 37" Maxxis Trepador M8060, therefore customized panhard bracket is used to level the panhard rod. A 37" long 1.5" OD 7075 Rod is used for the panhard rod chromoly rod ends are used for the joints as well. A customized drive shaft is also require for the lift. The upper links bracket are also constructed higher to level the link angle for a more stabilize ride. A vertical bar which is also gusset to the axle housing , is wielded to reduce stress on the upper link brackets.
