Latest BJ40 project

We have a new job in the shop , involving a complete makeover of a Toyota Landcruiser BJ40 suspension. We remove the front and rear leaf spring and convert it to trailing arms coil spring suspension with a customized Dobsinson coil springs and Fox 2.0 remote reservoir shocks. 

We retained the front 9.5" axle , but upgraded the inner shafts to Trail Gear Longfields chromoly. The ring and pinion will be regeared to Nitro Gear 4.56 ratio. As for the rear we replace the old semi float axle to a full floater from a FJ80 donor, regard with Nitro Gear 4.56 ring and pinion as well. Plus we also dropped in the rear Nitro Gear Chromoly axle shaft on the full floater. 


Additionally for clearance we also installed the high steering arm with 7075 aluminum rod with chromoly helm joints. Drivetrain and engine wise , we went with the power workhorse 15BT and married it with a FJ80 manual 5 speed transmission and transfer case.
