Our recent 4x4 expedition into the deep rainforest of Malaysia had been an exciting and frustrating one. The team consist of a Toyota Hilux Tiger, Hilux Vigo and a Landcruiser 80. The Hilux Tiger had been heavily modified with a front axle conversion while the Vigo retains it IFS and stock shafts, and thats spelled trouble.
We encountered multiple shaft breakage on the Vigo and had to do a lot of remedy in field. Being on one of the toughest trail in the region , it took us quite a while to reach the campsite.
On the other hand , the Landcruiser 80 being the heaviest and widest did well and manage through all the obstacle, only had a small hiccup of tearing an internal beadlock due to air leakage.
All 3 vehicle is equipped with Redwinch Hornet II + overvolt supercharger unit, which is a great help in overcoming all the obstacle.
